廖世勇，博士，副研究員。1983年5月出生，2010年在南京大學(xué)獲得理學(xué)博士學(xué)位。2010年至2014年底任國土部成都地質(zhì)礦產(chǎn)研究所助理研究員和副研究員。2015年至今任中國科學(xué)院紫金山天文臺副研究員。主要從事隕石和微隕石的礦物巖石學(xué)、地球化學(xué)和同位素年代學(xué)研究，探索行星演化的過程和歷史，以及地球深時空間碎片環(huán)境。曾獲部級科學(xué)技術(shù)獎兩項。近年來，主持國家和省自然科學(xué)基金多項，以第一作者或通訊作者身份在EPSL，GCA和MAPS等國內(nèi)外學(xué)術(shù)期刊發(fā)表論文十余篇。
